Mixars hatte bereits in einem kleinen Video neue Produkte zur NAMM 2017 Messe angekündigt. Eines davon ist der Mixars Primo, ein Serato DJ Controller, welcher durch ein Upgrade auch DVS spielen kann. Der Mixars Primo wirkt durchaus interessant. Die Jogs sind 15,2 cm groß, haben einen LED Ring und ein Display in der Mitte, zudem sind die Jogs aus Aluminium. Die Pitch Fader daneben sind 100 mm lang, damit kann man ordentlich Beatmatchen. Neben den gängigen Deck Effekten bietet der Primo mit Noise, Filter, Crush und Gate ganze vier Kanal FX, ähnlich wie die Color FX beim anderen Mischpulten. Mit insgesamt 16 Performance Pads, einem Needle Strip lässt der Primo eigentlich keine Wünsche offen. Am Layout gefällt mir am besten, dass es nicht gespiegelt ist, es ist angeordnet als stünden zwei Player links und recht eines Mischpults.
Zum professionellen Layout gesellen sich auch professionelle Anschlüsse. Den Master gibt’s als XLR und Cinch Anschluss, die Booth Ausgänge sind in 6,3 mm Klinke Anschlüssen gefasst. Die Inputs lassen sich zwischen Phono und Line umschalten, das Mic bietet einen XLR-Klinke-Combo-Anschluss, welcher sich durch einen Cinch Eingang an der Front auch als AUX Nutzen lässt. Zudem bietet das Mic Tone Kontrolle und ein Echo. Obwohl der Mixars Primo Bus Powered, also ohne Netzteil, läuft, bietet er einen Anschluss für ein Netzteil mit Zugentlastung.
Mixars Primo Fazit
Alles in allem macht der Mixars Primo einen wirklich durchdachten Eindruck, leider passen meiner Meinung nach die silbernen Cue und Play Knöpfe nicht ganz ins Layout. Etwas schade, dass man das DVS Plugin hier noch extra erwerben muss. Wir haben ihn direkt in die Lizenzübersicht für Serato DJ mit aufgenommen.
Sollte Mixars mit dem ersten Controller für Serato DJ auch an die Qualität des Mixars Duo anschließen dürfte der Mixars Duo ein voller Erfolg werden und sich schnell etablieren, daher sehe ich auch den Preis von knapp 600 € für gerechtfertigt.
